9/29/08 - Top 3 Most Frequently Asked Questions of Ray
  1. What makes you the best candidate for Mayor of Springdale?
As a resident of Springdale for 40 years, I have seen many changes in our great city. I have seen two lane roads go to 4 lane highways and our population go from twenty thousand to sixty-seven thousand. Springdale has become the fourth largest city in the state.
As a business man of 25 years, I have had to deal with the ups and downs of business and making good sound decisions that I knew would impact my family's future. As a Springdale alderman, I had to also make sure that I spent the people's tax dollars wisely to ensure their future.
The next mayor of Springdale will have to be a working mayor, one who is motivated and aggressive. He will have to be willing to make the right decision out of hard one. I believe I can be the mayor that Springdale needs to take it forward.

  2. What do you think is the most critical issue currently facing the city?
The most critical issue facing the city is the loss of revenue. Springdale has seen declining sales tax for the past 23 months. As mayor, my #1 priority will be to make Springdale "business friendly". I will work to bring in new businesses and jobs and work with our established businesses to keep them here. I will make this a city they want to stay in from the smallest of businesses to the large corporations. As mayor, the outlook we will have will be "Welcome to Springdale, how may we help you?"

  3. What else do you want voters to know about yourself/your campaign?
I want the people of Springdale to know that I love this city and I want it to move forward. That I will be a mayor for the people with less government and no more taxes. I will put the taxpayers first and listen to their needs to make Springdale a city they are proud to live in, work in and raise their family in. Last, but not lease, it would be an honor to serve as your mayor and I am asking you for your vote.

9/22/2008 - A statement from Ray regarding his stance on Illegal Immigration
In my last term as Springdale alderman, I pushed for Springdale to enter into the 287(g) program. This program authorizes local police to be trained and certified in the area of illegal immigration and crime that comes with it, such as gangs and graffiti. As your mayor, I will work with the U.S. Department of Immigration, customs enforcement, officials from homeland security and attorneys from the U.S. Department of Justice to stay current with all the immigration laws. As your next Springdale Mayor, I will work hard with our police chief and city attorney to enforce the laws of illegal immigration.
